Work-At-Home Businesses
Everyone, at some point or another, has come across an offer that sounds SO amazing, you can't help but take the chance on it. Why not, it's only $19.99/$29.99/$49.99/$199.99, right? What's there to lose? No selling, no hard work, the "system" does everything for you, and you'll get thousands of dollars a month or week for only a couple hours of work.
Unfortunately, these "systems" really, are nothing more than a big, fat scam. Most systems are affiliate-based, meaning you pay, they tell you to get other people signed up, and you earn when someone does. Affiliate sales, in itself, not a bad or wrong system - but for these "get rich quick" schemes, what you're selling is a dream that can't ever be fulfilled. Basically, these systems work by having you sell the scam, get more people into it, who then continue to sell the scam. There are a few that are less clear-cut than that - some have you go to an affiliate service, like Clickbank, and write ads for products there and earn affiliate commissions that way. Unfortunately, you can do that without buying a high-priced "system", and that's how they get you, by not telling you exactly what you'll be doing and thus get your money before you realize you could have done it for free.
It gets worse, though. People are starting wise-up about these type of systems, so new ones are popping up. Now there are website purporting to help you make thousands reading email, or a small fortune on eBay, or help you write for cash. While these ones seem less scam-like, unfortunately, they still grab you by the "little work" and "great riches" you'll apparently earn through them. Again, these are all things you could learn to do for free - with some time, effort, and research. Problem is, how many people these days are in a position where fast money is much more appealing?
Sadly, a huge number of people buy into the idea that lots of money can be made with little work. No legitimate business I've ever found could do this, especially not one that's owned and operated by one person. Owning a business takes time, effort, and knowledge - which are all poo-poo'ed by these scammers, to get your money! I personally understand the draw of these systems - I fully admit I was pulled in once myself. It cost me a fair amount - not as much as it could have, but I realized how wrong the whole system is.
If you ever see an ad on TV, or one on the internet, for a "get Rich" system - please, do a quick Google search of Company Name + scam, and make sure you read links from places such as forums. You'll be quite enlightened about it, and hopefully it'll save you some money and stress. As a last word, be careful when you do the search - blogs abound with fake "rave reviews" of these places, frequently written by either owners of the system, or people who bought into it.
