Investing For Survival Of Your Online Business
Today I want to go over something with all of you that happened to me two days ago. I have a web page called “The Secret Pays“. This is one of the online businesses that I promote. Now, this is a separate site that I received when I joined this company, but I also have it linked from my own site at www.bizideasforhome.com. Now this all makes sense since I am trying to get as much traffic as I can.
I will get to what happened in a minute, but first I need to explain a couple of things. As a home based business owner, I have done some research and I try to learn as much as I can about the online business world. One thing I’ve learned is that if you have your own web page you need to get it ranked high in search engines to really become successful (I know, kind of a no brainer). But what I really learned is that you need a company that specializes in SEO which stands for Search Engine Optimization.
So I invested in one a while back that over time wasn’t really getting the results I wanted. When I received a phone call from another SEO company, there offer seemed much better and even came with a money back guarantee. So I canceled the one and reinvested in this one that I am currently working with for about 2 months now. When I invest in something, I always give it its due to see if it works or not.
Now here is what happened this week. I received another phone call from another SEO company. Just an FYI, receiving phone calls from companies when you have your own home based business is a good thing so I always listen to what they have to say. What they went over seemed very interesting and I probably would have invested if I didn’t already have a company working for me. They were looking to work on “The Secret Pays” site. The company I am with now is working on my own site, but remember, I have an entire page on my site dedicated to “The Secret Pays” site so in essence, it is being promoted.
When I tried to explain to the sales person that it all sounded good but I wasn’t ready to invest now because of I already invested in someone, she just wouldn’t take no for an answer. Now I always bookmark their sites because you never know if you might need them in the future. I told her I would do this but it didn’t seem to matter. After a couple of minutes when she realized she wasn’t getting a sale, all of a sudden a mans voice is now on the other end and he states that she had to leave her phone suddenly…yeah…ok.
So now I had to explain to him why I wasn’t buying at that moment. But he insisted that I click the buy now button on their page so he could show me the great discount that they were running only on that day and that he would hold the price for the day (he just wasn’t getting it). I told him nicely that I wanted to end the call but he just kept insisting that I hit the buy now button so I ended up hanging up on him and being very frustrated!
Now I know that if I would call them back today or any day that the “special” price would still be there, that is another thing I’ve learned. So as a home based business owner, be careful not to get caught up in all the hype of a sales call from someone. Having an SEO company working for you is recommended by most so if you have a web page for your online business, do some research if you haven’t received any calls yet. But trust me, you WILL start receiving phone calls. Just be careful who you invest in.
