The story of Nature’s Sunrise started in the early 1970’s in Utah, when a school teacher, Gene Hughes turned a nagging stomach discomfort into a business opportunity. But it soon became obvious to Gene & co. that their goal of touching more lives with their new-found products would not be realized if they depended, as they did, on retailers.
They soon found a perfect vehicle—direct marketing. That way, it was possible for them to directly educate consumers about the products, as well as affording the sales force an opportunity to share in the success of the company. This business model they adopted has obviously proved successful. Today, NSP is found in 33 countries, the company is represented by over 700,000 distributors.
