Talk to existing reps of the company before starting a homebased business. Does the company have a good standing with the Better Business Bureau (BBB)? Have they ever changed their compensation plan? Being able to answer these questions before making the move can save you a lot of frustration in the long run.

2. Product. What kind of product is it that’s being promoted? Is it a common item that’s found just about everywhere? That doesn’t make it too unique, does it? That might be a very big factor in your profitability. No one wants to buy something from you if they could get the same thing in local stores. Before starting a homebased business make sure the product stands out and provides good value to people, something that’s changing people’s lives.

Follow these two tips and you’re gold. Remember, do not skip these steps. Even though the company promises much wealth and prospersity don’t fall for it till you’ve got a firm grasp on things.
